Know which marketing actually worked

Most small businesses try something, cannot tell whether it did anything, and quietly stop. Mole Marketer pitches the work, briefs it and gives every initiative its own tracked link, so you can see what each one brought in.

The usual month

Where the answer usually gets lost

The work was not the problem. Nobody could see what it did, so nobody knew whether to do it again.

A month of marketing

  1. 1

Somebody suggests a podcast appearance, a directory listing or a webinar

  2. 2

It gets done, once, in a busy week

  3. 3

The link goes out with nothing on it to say where a visit came from

  4. 4

A month later somebody asks whether it worked

  5. 5

The website numbers show a bump, or no bump, and no reason for either

  6. ?

Nobody knows whether to do it again

Where it goes wrong

The link carries no tag

Without a UTM tag, a visit from the show notes looks like any other visit. The work happened and left no trace you can read.

The report is a job of its own

Google Analytics may well be installed. Building the report that answers "did the webinar bring anyone in" takes time and know-how, so it rarely gets built.

The result never reaches the next decision

Even when somebody finds the number, it lives in a spreadsheet. The next idea gets chosen the way the last one was, on a hunch.

Mole Marketer puts the measure in place when the work is pitched, rather than leaving somebody to remember it afterwards.

Measured from the start

Three things that make your marketing results readable

Measurement is not a separate project. It is part of deciding what to try and briefing it.

Every initiative carries its own tags

Accept an initiative pitch and it gets its own UTM source and campaign. Use the tracked link wherever the work goes out, in the show notes, the directory listing or the email footer, and each visit is attributed to the initiative that earned it.

  • The tags are made when you accept the pitch
  • One tracked link per initiative, copied from the app
  • No spreadsheet of campaign names to keep up

The analytics are built in

Funnel Analytics is included with Growth. You add the Mole Marketer tracking snippet to your site once, then record the path a customer takes, from a landing page to an enquiry or a booking, by clicking through it yourself. There is no GA4 or tag manager to connect.

  • Cookie-less, first-party measurement
  • Each visitor's journey, return visits included
  • Filter by referrer, UTM source, entry page or country

What happened shapes the next pitch

Snapshots of your site's top paths are part of the context every initiative pitch and brief is built from. The pipeline pitches, tracks and sees what happened, so the next round leans on evidence from your own site rather than on a hunch.

  • Your results feed the next pitch
  • Every pitch still says why it fits
  • Your team still decides what to try

01Its own UTM tags

Accept a pitch and the initiative gets its own UTM source and campaign. Use the tracked link wherever the work goes out.

02Results feed the next pitches

What each initiative brought in becomes context for the next round, so the pipeline leans into what is working.

03No GA4 or tag manager setup

Add one small snippet to your site and the funnel is tracked. There is nothing to wire up between tools.

Method, not magic

What you can see at each step of the pipeline

A reason before the work starts, and a measure after it goes out.

When What you can see
Before the work Why the initiative fits your business, with its evidence and five scores
When you accept a pitch Its own UTM source and campaign, ready for the tracked link
While it runs Visits attributed to that initiative, with the referrer and entry page behind them
On your own site How far those visitors got along the path you recorded, and where they stopped
One visitor at a time The full journey, return visits included
At the next pitch What each initiative brought in, as context for what to try next

How it works

Three inputs, one pipeline

Every pitch is grounded in what your business already knows, with citations back to the source, not in whatever is already ranking on the internet.

01Business context

It's important to build off your business, opinions and past work.

Website Notion Google Drive

Indexed so every pitch can cite it

02Analytics

Attribute website traffic to specific marketing initiatives, so you can double down on what's working.

  • SEO guides 412 visits
  • Customer stories 268 visits
  • Local community 94 visits

03Humans in the loop

We believe the best marketing comes from humans. Mole Marketer's outputs are all editable and include questions to fold in for every new brief.

A question only you can answer

What do customers ask on the first call that your website never answers?

One pipeline out

  • A new initiative pitched every week
  • Brief pitches twice a week
Scored across 53 marketing channels

Who it is for

Is this the question you have?

Both are real situations. Only one of them is us.

Look elsewhere if

  • You need ad attribution across Google Ads and Meta, or analytics for every page of a large site
  • You want posts scheduled and published, with reporting for each social network
  • Somebody here already builds reports in GA4 and the marketing plan is settled
  • You only want a tracking tool, not a pipeline pitching what to try next

Mole Marketer is for you if

  • Marketing gets tried, and nobody can say afterwards whether it did anything
  • You want a reason before the work starts and a measure after it goes out
  • Nobody on the team is going to build an analytics report
  • You want each result to shape what you try next

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Anything else? Write to us and we will help you work out whether it fits.

Do I still need Google Analytics?

Not for this. Funnel Analytics is included and needs no GA4 or tag manager. Keep GA4 if you already use it for the whole site or for ad attribution, because the two can run side by side.

What is a UTM tag?

A short label added to the end of a link, such as utm_source=podcast_guesting, that tells your analytics where a visit came from. Mole Marketer makes the tags for each initiative, so you copy the tracked link rather than writing the label by hand.

Will it tell me which marketing made money?

It shows what each initiative brought in, how far those visitors got along your path and how many reached the last step. It does not attribute revenue, and no tool can promise that a channel will work.

What if bookings or enquiries happen on another site?

Put the same snippet on both sites and the visitor's journey carries across. When the final step is confirmed in another system, such as a booking tool, it can be counted too, though that part needs whoever looks after your website.

Does cookie-less mean we do not need a consent banner?

No blanket legal claim is possible. The tracking uses first-party local storage, no cookies, no fingerprinting and nothing shared with ad networks. Ask your own adviser about your full site and where you operate.

Is Funnel Analytics sold separately?

No. It is included with Growth, which is $99 per month per property, introductory pricing, and not priced per user or by traffic.
